Transport: load of a boat in the harbor of Légué

In just few years, the face of Légué has radically changed. Works in the harbor and the outer harbour, of the new houses, the renewed buildings, of companies which have settled in, restore life in the harbour district. Return to the activities of SOKA within this harbor.

Sea transport constitutes an important part of the means of freisht movement used by our logistic service. Since its renovation, the harbor of LEGUE is a safe ground port type NABSSA enabling loading whatever the height of the tide.

To realise this load, we have an on-site storage of a 4500 tons capacity storage and 2000 tons outdoor. The supply of the stock is made by road from Quessoy’s site.

Ships are loaded using an automatic system collects the stock by means of a mobile conveyor with load rate of between 250 to 300 tons per hour. The kaolin is directly poured into the holds of the ship.

Development : improvement of the movement on the site of Quessoy

We had announced it in 2007, we have done it. We wanted meet the increase of the traffic on the site (trucks, containers), to obtain the CE standard for sand, to rationalize the loads of raw and refined materials, while guaranteeing the security of movement. All these points required a complete reorganisation of the motor traffic:


 Moving of the entrance to the site on the D765 towards Quessoy to secure the traffic of the crossroads of Meudon towards Quessoy,
 Creation of a new roundabout well into the entrance of the site allowing the parking for of several trucks the need,
 A 2^nd Weishbridge was commissionned to generate a better,
 Implementation of a cleaning of wheels avoiding the warehouse of muddy materials on roads at the exit of the site.

These important modifications have already come into effect, together with formacing of the internal road ways. SOKA being ISO-certified 14001, a particular accent was put on the harnessing of all the flowing waters of our site by the creation of 2 new catchment ponds to keep and the purchase of new pumps. Finally, to make the entrance of the factory more pleasant, a program of plantation will be implemented the installation of fences, a gate and signposts.
