Tiles industry

 In tile bodies the use of kaolin can help improve the fired colour of the body and can in part replace some of the more expensive components used to improve body colour.

 Kaolins GA, GC and S3 have excellent pressing characteristics, whilst giving white fired colour due to the low content of colouring oxides.

 Washed kaolin CL also provides a source of alumina which combined with the silica in the body components form mullite which gives fired strength to the vitreous floor tiles.

 Low fluorine in a kaolin, helps to protect the environment. the SOKA kaolins are known to contain some of the lowest levels of fluorine.
