If environmental concerns have become fashionable, this is not new for SOKA. In 1990 SOKA was granted an environmental prize and again an award “innovation crystal” was presented for its environmental project. Today SOKA is is certified ISO 14001 version 2004.

Responsible for site reclamation, Soka decided to begin refurbishing the quarries as soon as an area is no longer used. At the end of operations, the pit is backfilled and replanted to give the site its original landscape and vegetation. Quarry dimensions are limited to the necessary area of operations. The working zone is protected by embankments and trees in order to integrate the site into the local environment.

With more than half a century experience in extracting, processing and selling kaolins, SOKA will continue working whilst taking care of nature and human dimensions, respecting the environment and with a foresight based on experience for sustainable development.
